METS Profile Development

The 2007 APSR/NLA METS Profile Development project was an APSR RIFF project which aimed to facilitate the adoption of the Metadata Encoding and Transmission Standard (METS) as a common format for exchanging data between repositories and other workflow environments.

The 2007 APSR/NLA METS Profile Development project was an APSR RIFF project which aimed to facilitate the adoption of the Metadata Encoding and Transmission Standard (METS) as a common format for exchanging data between repositories and other workflow environments. This project built on the work of the 2006 APSR/NLA PRESTA project, which produced a Report on preservation metadata for digital objects, based on PREMIS that included a draft profile for exchange of digital objects between repositories. The 2007 Project tested the draft profile against a range of implementation scenarios and registered it with the Library of Congress as the Australian METS Profile 1.0.
